Student of the Year’ sets a news record

Dharma Productions has set a record of making the highest box office collection starring newcomers in the last decade with Student Of The Year. Directed by Karan Johar, the film has struck the right chord with the audience’s in spite of starring three debutants.

Released on the 19th of October, Student Of The Year marked the debut of Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. All the newcomers were very well accepted, as
even before the release the debutants had a huge fan base. The high school romance was a blockbuster and the debutants left behind quite an impression on the audiences.

Taran Adarsh recently tweeted about the success of the film stating, “#SOTY 4-week total in *India* stands at Rs 70 cr nett. Highest total in the last decade for any film starring newcomers. Fantastic!”

The last decade has seen a number of films starring debutants but Student Of The Year has set a new benchmark by breaking the box office records. Hope the Dharma legacy continues to entertain the audiences and setting new records!!

JISM3: Why Pooja Bhatt won't work with Sunny Leone again

It appears that all is not well between Pooja Bhatt and Sunny Leone. The adult star, who was launched in B-Town in Jism 2, will not feature in the third outing of the franchise. Apparently the differences between Sunny and Pooja started midway through the filming.

Sunny felt she was being treated like a newcomer when she was already a familiar name. Pooja thought the starlet carried too much excess star baggage.
