Tisha Korea’s ‘goodwill ambassador’

South Korean Embassy to Dhaka has appointed Nusrat Imrose Tisha, a Bangladeshi popular television and film actress, as their Goodwill Ambassador to help enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.

Lee Yun-young, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, handed over the appointment letter to Tisha at the Embassy in the city on Monday.

“I wish she will successfully play her role as Goodwill Ambassador by enhancing mutual understanding through cultural exchanges between the two countries and contribute to further deepening of Korea-Bangladesh relations,” he said while handing over the letter to Tisha.

The appointment coincides with Korea’s year-long celebration of the 40th anniversary of bilateral relations with Bangladesh.

Tisha is the first Goodwill Ambassador of Korea in Bangladesh. Tisha said she was honoured and excited about her responsibility as Korea’s Goodwill Ambassador.

“It is a great responsibility for me and I will try to maintain and make a bridge between the two friendly countries through promoting cultural activities,” she added.

Later, while talking to The Daily Star, Lee said, “Tisha is one of five Korea’s Goodwill Ambassadors all over the world. She as a talented and popular actress and will also be able to perform her role of public diplomacy.”

The film entitled “Television” is one of her works that earned her public acclaim at home and abroad, said Lee responding to the question of her selection as Goodwill Ambassador.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea has appointed Tish for a two-year term, beginning September 10, 2013.

Mehzabin again with Sajal

Lux superstar, promising TV actress and model Mehzabin performed against popular TV actor Sajal under the direction of Sokal Ahmed in a TV play, which was aired in a satellite channel. Later they had performed together under renowned directors like Mohan Khan, Shahin Kubur Tutul and Maruf Pathan

In this serial, Sajal is acting in the central character. He is performing in role of Rahul, while Mehzabin is acting in role of Abonti in this serial.

While sharing his feelings to perform in this serial Sajal told this correspondent, “Mehzabin is very cooperative actress. She is now doing well. For this reason, she has much acceptance in media now.”
Mehzabin shared her feelings by this way, “From the beginning of my career in media I am getting support from Sajal bhai. He is always very jolly-minded person. I hope, viewers will enjoy the serial.”
This serial will go on air in any satellite channel on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

Monalisa again in acting

After a break of few months, popular TV actress and model Monalisa again started acting in the small screen.

She is performing in a six-episode special serial “Sikandar Box Ekhon Birat Model,” which was directed by Sagor Jahan under the script written by him.

In the serial, popular actor Mosharraf Karim has performed in central role, while Monalisa has acted in role of his wife, Kheya.

While sharing her feelings to perform in the serial Monalisa told this correspondent, “In fact, only for my personal reason, I was out of acting arena. I have agreed to perform in this serial as Sagor bhai's written story was attracted me. Story of the serial is really nice. Therefore Mosharraf bhai is one of my favourite actors. I have enjoyed working with him. In this serial, Tania apu and Faruk bhai have also worked. I believe viewers will enjoy the serial.”

While talking about Monalisa, Mosharraf Karim said, “Mona is a talented actress. I think actress like her should always remain active in the field of acting. She shouldn’t deprive the viewers to watch her acting.”

This special serial will go on air on Banglavision on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. Basically “Sikandar Box Ekhon Birat Model” is sequel of “Sikandar Box Ekhon Onek Boro,” which was aired on the occasion of Banglavision’s founding anniversary.

Besides this serial, Monalisa will perform in a dance related show “Nrityo Ananda Chhondey” in Eid festival. This programme will be directed by Zia, which will be aired on Eid day at 8:15pm, said Monalisa.

Friends-turned-foes Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan hugged and made up at an iftaar party hosted by Baba Siddiqui at a five star hotel in Mumbai on Sunday evening.

SRK and Salman Khan thus ended their five years of rivalry.

TV reports showed Salman patting SRK on his shoulder, who was sitting next to Salim Khan, to hug his Karan Arjun co-star, thus ending their infamous rivalry.

SRK later took to Twitter and wrote: "Finally u realize turning the page is the best feeling in the world, becos there is so much more to the book than the page u were stuck on."

Salman and Shah Rukh Khan had never spoken to each other ever since their brawl at the birthday party of Katrina Kaif.

The two have avoided each other in public as well.

Alif Alauddin in acting

Alif Alauddin has been performing in music industry for more than 12 years. In her music career, she got many offers to perform in the small screen.

But she never agreed to perform in any TV play. Now she has agreed to act in a telefilm. She finalised the matter yesterday to perform in telefilm “Banshiwala,” which will be directed by Jamal Mallik under the script written by Probhat Ahmed.

While sharing her feelings in this regard Alif Alauddin told this correspondent, “Earlier I got many proposals to act in TV play. But scripts of those plays didn’t attract me. For this reason, I didn’t perform in TV play. In fact, director Jamal Mallik has introduced my role in the story of telefilm ‘Banshiwala’ so nicely that I couldn’t disagree to perform in it. I will perform in role of my real character in this telefilm.”

Alif Alauddin will perform in role of a singer in telefilm “Banshiwala.” Shooting of this telefilm will start from July 28. Popular singer cum actor Agun will perform against Alif in this telefilm.

It may be mentioned that Alif Alauddin is now working as deputy editor at music department of Channel 71. With her own planning, hosting and direction a programme titled “Music Buzz” is being aired every Friday and Saturday from 11:15am to 2:00pm on Channel 71.

Alif Alauddin has three solo albums. These are: “Sei Tumi Ele” (released under the banner of Sangeeta in 1999), “Daak-e Aamai” (released under the banner of Sangeeta in 2006) and “Kolponate” (released under the banner of Agniveena in 2011).

Although Alif did not give her vocal for playback track, she has plan in this regard in future, said Alif Alauddin.

It didn't take her long to make a name for herself, as offers to play the leading lady in many films came flooding in. Her on-screen pairing up with Shakib Khan also acted as a catalyst for her rapid success in the Dhaliwood scene. Talent and hard work paid off, as Apu is now considered the top movie actress of today.

During her seven-year career, Apu has paired up with Shakib in nearly 40 movies -- all of which have been box office successes. The actress claims that the popularity and the repeated commercial success of the Shakib-Apu pairing have influenced producers and directors to cast them in so many films.

The actress however claims that a sole individual cannot claim the entire credit for all the successes. Admitting that Shakib has a huge appeal to movie-goers, Apu asserts that it takes a united effort to make a movie a success.

Several films featuring her are waiting to be released, the most talked about of which is “Debdas”. The role of Parbati will be played by the actress, while the eponymous role will be played by Shakib. Apu says she is very optimistic about the success of “Debdas”, adding that she expects large crowds to throng the halls when the film is released.

The last Eid saw only one release featuring Apu -- “Dhakar King”, directed by Safiuddin Safi. Speaking about the movie, Apu says that she has only received good reports on “Dhakar King” so far. “People close to me are calling me with positive reviews of the film,” Apu says, adding that her dedicated fans all went to watch the film. “I went to a theatre to watch the movie on the second day of Eid, but had to came out after an hour due to the huge crowd inside the hall,” adds Apu.

The star feels that an actress should only have a single release during a major festival like Eid -- to ensure that it is a commercial success. Two films featuring Apu may be released during Eid-ul-Adha: Badiul Alam Khokon's “100 Percent Love” and MB Manik's “Durdhorsho Premik”. “Debdas” may also be released around that time, she adds.

Apu is currently working on several films. She has penned agreements for Nazrul Islam Khan's “Moner Thikana” and three more untitled projects. Asked on her dwindling film projects, Apu answers that all actors are getting less film assignments as fewer movies are made annually. Only 40 movies are now made each year, compared to a 100 that were made before, she adds.

A constant dreamer, Apu likes to plan ahead. Her plans for the future include working in films with good plots, so that her place is cemented in the hearts of the audience.

Despite her busy shooting schedule, Apu makes time to go to the gym 10 days a month. She claims that she has been able to make significant changes with better care of her health.

When asked for her opinion on the recent changes in the trend of movie plots, direction and audience expectations, Apu says that the viewers want something fresh, as they are tired of the same locations and storyline. “Such expectations are natural,” Apu claims.

The star further points out that her greatest gain from the film industry is the love of her countless fans. Such admiration has come her way solely by working in films, Apu concludes.

Sarika debuted in film soon

Promising model cum actress Sarika is going to debut herself in the country’s film arena soon. This popular TV actress, however, is very determined to show her first appearance in the big screen within the shortest possible time.

মাঝে বেশ কিছুদিন চলচ্চিত্র থেকে দূরে ছিলেন জনপ্রিয় চলচ্চিত্র অভিনেত্রী অপু বিশ্বাস। তার করা সর্বশেষ চলচ্চিত্র মাইও নেম ইজ খান এর কাজ শেষ করেছেন তাও মাস ছয়েক আগে। কিন্তু মাঝের এই বিরতি কারণ প্রসঙ্গে অপু বলেন, মাঝখানের সময়টাতে আমাদের ছবির বাজার খুব একটা ভালো ছিল না। বেশ কিছু ছবিতে কাজের প্রস্তাব ছিল, কিন্তু কাজ করতে চাইনি। কারণ, আমার মনে হয়েছে, ওই ছবিগুলোতে কাজ করলে আমার অভিনয়জীবনে তার নেতিবাচক প্রভাব পড়বে।’

Romana’s love

Highly ambitious and fraud Apurbo came into simple minded Romana’s life as a lover. Romana is a university student, and also nice and attractive to look at.

Though Apurbo is her love, mindset of daughter of a rich man always hurts Romana’s mind.

On the other hand, although he is son of a poor farmer, Apurbo always gives his identity as son of an expatriate and hails from a rich family.

His relatives live in either Australia or Switzerland. In fact, Apurbo’s main source of income comes from five tuitions. From his income, Apurbo sends some money to his parents in village. His roommates always honour Apurbo as he is a rich family’s son. By this way, he always moves in the fake world. But Romana didn’t know these things. She loves him. Once a letter changed her mindset and situation. Then climax began.

This is the story of a single episode Eid play titled “Chithi,” which script was written by Rudro Mahfuz and directed by BU Shuvo.

In this play, Apurbo performed in role of ‘Apu,’ while Romana acted in role of ‘Mira.’ Therefore, Dr Enamul Haque also performed in another important role in the play “Chithi.”

While talking about the play director BU Shuvo told this correspondent, “Recently shooting of this play was completed in Uttara and Mirpur DOHS. Solvency comes after hard labour. It is the main theme of this play.

In the play, Romana and Apurbo have performed well. I believe this play will attract the viewers. This play will go on air on Ekushey Television during upcoming Eid festival.”

Kona in Arabic jingle track

To give vocal for Arabic jingle track in television commercial (TVC) is absolutely new concept in our country. Country’s popular singer of present time Kona gave her vocal for an Arabic track for first time.

Though she gave her vocal for a Hindi jingle outside the country, but this time Kona rendered a jingle in Arabic language for a TVC for first time in Bangladesh. She rendered the track in Arabic language for a TVC of ‘Botanic Aroma Alpana Henna,’ which was directed by Chairman of Botanic Aroma Asaduzzaman Liton. Title of the track is: “Alone asadi eka.”

While sharing her feelings to give her vocal for an Arabic jingle Kona told this correspondent, “When music director JK bhaiya has given direction how to render this track, I thought I couldn’t render it. But I took the challenge. In fact, I have enjoyed while performing the jingle track. It became really nice after recording. After listening the track I have enjoyed it.”
