Shah Rukh Khan Admits to Surrogate Baby

SRK says the birth of Abram (his son’s alleged name) is a mixture of happiness and sadness

India’s biggest star Shah Rukh Khan has shocked the country again. Speculation had just begun regarding the superstar and his wife, Gauri, starting to consider having another child via surrogacy, when news broke yesterday (3 July) that the baby, whose name is allegedly Abram, had already been born on May 27. The superstar, who has been quiet so far regarding the entire matter, has finally issued a statement saying, “It is a personal and confidential matter…it is a mix of happiness and sadness. I request the authorities concerned to continue to enthusiastically investigate about my baby” when he was at the music launch of ‘Chennai Express’.

The star infused the entire matter with wit when probed further about the baby by a reporter and said, “Get over it. Get on the train baby, and not my baby. Will talk about all this later.” To how it felt to be a father for the third time, SRK quipped back, “As your health reporter!”

There have been a barrage of questions and a lot of drama surrounding this decision. After all, the stars are over 40 (Shah Rukh Khan is 47 years old and Gauri Khan is 42 years old) and and have two children, Suhana (13 years old) and Aryan (15 years old).

There are plenty of rumours surrounding the birth of Abram, including that Gauri’s sister-in-law, Namita Chibber, is supposed to have been the surrogate mother. Additionally, the BMC has said they will visit the star’s home to determine whether the foetus had been tested for gender determination which is illegal in India.
